I started making cakes for family about 4 years ago.  It has been a goal of mine to have my own cake business, but I knew I needed experience first, so I started making cakes for my son, and nieces and nephews. That's when I truly realized my love for this craft. 

 

All of my cakes are made from scratch and with love. I started out making my own fondant, but soon realized that I could buy a much better product and save that extra time cost for my clients.

 

My late Grandma Keselring is definitely the source for my love and talent of baking. Baking and culinary arts has truly been the only thing that I have consistently had a calling and desire for throughout my whole life.

For me, the name of my business was very important.  Nothing was coming to me.  About 2 years ago, I went through one of the hardest times of my entire life, that involved a pregnancy loss and cancer. 

 

My sweet little niece was born in the middle of one of the darkest times in my life, and she was truly a light through it all.  I had the honor of making her first birthday cake in September of 2020 (my best cake to date) - it was farm themed.

 

I spontaneously added this adorable yellow door that was inspired from the yellow door on the greenhouse of her family's farm. One day looking through cake pics and looking for inspiration, it hit me... It's nothing short of fate that her cake would inspire the biggest leap of faith and dream come true for me.  And so, The Yellow Door Cake Co. was "born".
